My next book review brings us to Zomosapiens by David Moon. We get to see the zombie apocalypse from the zombies point of view. In this book, we see the zombie apocalypse unfold after nanotechnology, which is supposed to help make people younger, goes horribly wrong when our main character Laura is struck and killed by a a car. The zombie apocalypse unfolds as those who are brought back to life, had to feed their insatiable appetite. Though not quite zombies, as they feel, think, and even have sex. This is where we get the zomosapiens term from.

This is a really fun and enjoyable book. Not only do you get our zombies, there are also werewolf types and vampire types. All effected by the nanotechnology that inevitable changes things about them when they either get bitten, or die. Having the story unfold from their point of view is refreshing and gives a glimpse into their world. Gives us an idea of how their hunger controls them, and how it would unfold if we have actual thinking zombies. I also loved the werewolves in this story. They were also effected by the nanotechonolgy, but it effected them in a different way. Making them these huge beasts that can not be stopped. It is seriously a fun book that you can not put down. Refreshing way of explaining the zombie apocalypse. And how can you not like the term they give to themselves, zomosapiens. It's fitting.This is another story I put in my list of must read stories. Do yourself a favor and grab this book. 5 out of 5 from me.
I am starting a new series within this blog, where I will be reviewing various horror/scifi books. First up, The Electric Series by Casey Harvell.

(pic courtesy of amazon.com)

This series focuses on a group of friends, most importantly a young girl named Kat, who is thrown into an apocalypse. The apocalypse is caused by nanobot technology gone horribly wrong. Saving the world falls into Kats hands, as her abilities with being electrically charged, seem to be the only thing that stops the nanobots.

I have to stay I really loved this series. I finished it within a week, and couldn't put it down. The characters are written in a way where you can relate to them, and you feel a connection. Kat for instance, just a normal girl who's starting to come into her own as a teenager. Trying to get through school, participating in a band with her bestfriend, dealing with her first love, dealing with the mean girls. The character development just made the book so much more enjoyable and you really wanted to know what would happen to them. Spoiler alert, there's even a baby bear. Probably my favorite character. The nanobot apocalypse itself is distressing within this book. You can see it unfolding, and you can feel both hopeless and hopeful as the series continues on. It's quite disturbing in some areas when you hear what the nanobots have done to some humans. Disturbing in a way that will freak you out, but not something that turns you away. I really loved how Casey chose to use nanobot technology as the end of the world, as opposed to biological warfare. It makes this series that much more of an 'edge of your seat' read, because you can see this happening. Honestly, there aren't many books that I pick up and can't put down. This series goes into the short list of books that I couldn't put down. It brought out so many emotions, which is rare these days in books. I even teared up quite a bit when reading. Please go pick up the series on amazon. You won't be disappointed. It has a little something for everyone. 5 out of 5 stars.
If you search for it on Facebook, you are taken straight to their page, which gives you a link to their website. Sign up with their email, and you will be eligible for their beta service for 60 days. So of course I signed up. It looks like it has a wider variety than sites like Screambox and FrightPix, which is a most for me. Upon looking a this site, I see quite a few films I have already seen. While I liked a lot of the films on their, I'm not interested in ultimately paying for a subscription in two months, to watch the same movies over and over again. Shudder has assured me they will be adding 100s of films in the near future. So we shall see. Throughout the 60 days, I will try and review films I have watched strictly off of that site. I'll leave a little note as to which movies I have actually chosen off of this site. After the trial ends, I will let everyone know if this site is worth signing up for or not. Time I take my journey into Shudder, look for a movie review from that site in the next few days.

On a side note, I am happy to see this emergence of streaming sites dedicated to us who love all things horror.
Heard about this Indie flick from a horror FB page I follow, and decided to check it out. So here is my review.

Summary: In the cold, wintery fields of New England, a lonely old house wakes up every thirty years - and demands a sacrifice. (As always, summary provided by IMDB.com)

I was kind of excited to watch this film. It seemed to have pretty high marks. And you all know how I feel about Indie films. They are usually the best kind of horror out there. This one however, it was terrible. Terrible and boring. I couldn't get myself into it. It was very slow, with very little happening until the end of the film. Where it all of a sudden got very gory. I'm ok with gore, seeing as I'm a huge fan of the Saw series. However, if you're claiming this is a ghost tale, keep the gore out of it. It also was just an incredibly lackluster storyline, and the acting was poor. I was very annoyed with one of the characters, and her part would have been best left out, since she literally brought nothing to the table. I just can't even think of things to say about this movie, that would detail how boring and how much of a time waster it was.

My suggestion, skip this one. You'll be bored. There are a million other ghost films out there that would be much better suited to your horror needs.

Stay Scared Friends,
Would you all be interested in seeing video reviews from me? I was thinking of doing those and a small written review for my blog. I figured I'd be able to show my emotions for the movies a lot better. I was also thinking of having you all join me, and give your opinions as well. Make this more of a community. Hit me up on Twitter or my Facebook, and let me know what you think. If it generates enough interest, me and my horror in crime partner will start doing them. Reader's Paradisehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13783550328575751417noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6768055166270025995.post-79489665266230026552015-06-12T18:08:00.001-07:002015-06-12T18:08:21.632-07:00Insdious: Chapter 3Well everyone, I am back. I've been trying to find enough time with my busy schedule to write down some reviews, as I had been promising. This weekend has given me the perfect opportunity to try and bust out a few. So for my first one back, I am going to write a review on the horror movie I have seen most recently. That movie would be Insidious: Chapter 3.

Summary:" A prequel set before the haunting of the Lambert family that reveals how gifted psychic Elise Rainier reluctantly agrees to use her ability to contact the dead in order to help a teenage girl who has been targeted by a dangerous supernatural entity." (Summary provided by IMDB.com)

I went into this movie not expecting much. It was the only horror movie opening that night, and my best friend and I, always go see the latest horror movies together. I literally hated the first two, and found them boring. They were original, but boring. So I literally had low expectations for this one. I am happy to say, it went a 100x above my expectations. I loved this movie. There were quite a few scenes that were unsettling. That caused goosebumps. That is rare for me. My best friend and I jumped. I also really liked how you got a lot of Elise's story. How things started for her. How she meet Tucker and Specs. The entity was also scary and unsettling. This movie put me on edge for the rest of the night, and that hasn't happened since 'The Conjuring'.

So if you're thinking about seeing this movie, please go see it. If you weren't going to see it, reconsider and go see it. I may be pushing this a bit far, but it is one of the best horror movies that has come out in the past few years. Also, word of caution for my horror hounds, do not contact the dead. Seriously, do not try and contact the dead. You may end up with an entity like the one in the movie coming after you.

Ladies and gents I am back, after an unbearably long hiatus. School, work, and my personal life had gotten in the way. I am here to bring you my very first review.It involves the movie "Tusk".

Summary: The host of a podcast, goes to Canada in search of a story. He finds someone who peaks his interests. However, he finds that more sinister plans are in place.

Let me start off by saying this, you need to watch this movie. Quite frankly, I think Kevin Smith is a genius for this film. It's the perfect blend of disturbing and funny. Plus it has a great cast. There is a moment in this film, that literally left me with my mouth hanging open. I was shocked, horrified, and entertained at that moment. Definitely feelings that carried on throughout the film. Do yourself a favor and watch this movie. You will not be disappointed.
<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">Movie Summary: <span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">Psychological horror about a lonely young woman traumatized by a
difficult childhood, and her increasingly desperate attempts to connect
with the people around her. (imdb.com)

<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue", Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">If you've ever asked me to suggest a movie for you to watch, chances are I've suggested this one. This movie is written and directed by one of my favorites, Lucky McKee. It stars the lovely and talented Angela Bettis, who is my ultimate scream queen. This movie goes deeper than a lot of horror movies. Focusing on a lonely young woman, and what that has done to her psyche. When that psyche is tested, it culminates into something gruesome at the end. This movie is just brilliant. There is a reason why this is one of my favorite movies of all time. I could watch it over and over again, and will probably watch it again tonight. I really suggest you take the time out to watch it. It's definitely worth a watch. I feel like some of us may have a little bit of May in all of us.

<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue", Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">After you've seen this movie, let me know what you think of it. I'd really love to hear others opinions on this film.
<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue", Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">This is a huge anthology film. 26 directors, each assigned a letter, given total creative freedom, must come up with a short that goes with the letter.
<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue", Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue", Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">This was definitely a very interesting, weird, and twisted movie. That being said, I really enjoyed it. It was definitely an ambitious take on not only horror films, but on anthology films as well. Some of the letters are really amazing. E, R, N, Q, S, T are a few that stand out in my mind. When you watch them you will see what I mean. Some were down right horrible. Some were just WTF. When you see letter F, you'll know what I mean by that. Definitely don't get put off by some of the more weirder and horrible letters. There were only a few of those in the midst of some great ones. This is definitely a must watch for any horror fan out there.
<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">I decided to watch this movie on a whim. Saturday afternoon, not feeling well, might as well pick a random horror movie. Plus I am a fan of Jeffrey Combs. Basically what you have in this movie is a rich man, who promises to help whoever is the last man standing at the end of the night. At first you think it will be harmless. He gives two people a large sum of money for breaking things in their lifestyles. No big deal. However, we find the game to be a lot more sadistic than that. The game is called Would You Rather, and instead of stupid and funny things, they have to chose between two horrific choices. Sounds like a good concept right? Wrong. This movie sucked. I found it to be rather boring and drag on. The things they were supposed to do, though they sounded gruesome, didn't really end up that way while watching. I couldn't wait for this movie to be over and done with. I can't believe I watched the entire thing, though I did pause it for a long time while I went and did other things. This is usually a sign of how horrible a movie really is for me. Then the ending. You knew right from the start who was going to win. No surprise there. The events that took place after that were also very predictable. Sorry Brittany Snow, but this movie is a big fat fail. Do yourselves a favor and skip over this.

<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue", Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Summary: A mysterious love triangle leads to a tragic shooting. Months later,
eight members of a MySpace-esque chat room are being gruesomely murdered
in the privacy of their own homes. (imdb.com)
<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue", Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue", Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">This movie was another typical type slasher movie, using an internet twist. I watched this awhile ago, so bear with me. It was simple enough to remember it though, and remember it not being too interesting. You get a few people, who meet in a chat room on a social network site, who keep dying off. The supposed twist ending, wasn't a twist at all. You will see it coming a mile away. It's not much of a twist. Anyways, this movie is okay for a one time watch. If you are into the whole, be careful of who you meet on the internet (made popular by Catfish), then this is something you can add to your watch list. Don't expect it to be that interesting though.
<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue", Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Also, be careful who you meet online (insert creepy laugh here).
<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue", Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Summary: Sarah, a mentally-disturbed teen, has a jarring premonition of her friends' impending deaths one night at a sleepover. As her house guests begin to turn murderously against each other, Sarah must determine whether her visions represent the preventable or the inevitable... or something entirely more sinister (imdb.com)
<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue", Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue", Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">I watched this movie on a whim. There's a lack of good horror movies out right now that catch my attention, so I just randomly picked one. This movie really wasn't that original from a ton of teen horror movies out there. It was really slow and really didn't pick up too much towards the end. The deaths were lack luster, and happened quickly after the other. There was no build up, except for a few visions. It would have been better had their been more things that bought into the whole premonition, creepy things. I will say, the main character was very good. She was weird and creepy, which helped the movie out. Other than her, it wasn't that good. The twist ending wasn't really too shocking. Watching it, you could probably guess what is going to happen. Anyways, it's okay for a one time watch. If you're bored and can't find anything better to watch. It's very typical, which doesn't make it bad, but it's not that interesting either.
<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue", Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Summary: This movie is about a real life Japanese Urban legend involving a woman with a horribly disfigured mouth. As the legend goes, this woman was slit by her samurai husband, and now roams the streets wearing a surgical mask. If you encounter her, she will ask, "Am I Pretty?" Answer wrong and you will be meet with horrible consequences. So they took this legend, and turned it into a movie. However, in this movie the slit mouthed prays on children. She will kidnap children and take them to her home before she murders them.
<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue", Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue", Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">I haven't really watched a Japanese horror movie in awhile. I always felt that they were all similar. However, I had heard of this one and had been putting off watching it for awhile. I'm glad I finally watched it. It really was interesting and a bit creepy. It kept me watching through the entire thing, which is really hard to do. I'm also pausing a movie and coming back to it later. The Slit-Mouth Woman was also very creepy looking with her mouth and the large pair of sheers she carried around. The only problem I have with this movie, is the scenes depicting child abuse. I turned away. I can not sit there and watch it. In my opinion, watch this movie. It is one of the better Japanese horror movies I have seen in awhile, not to mention it is creepy. Be aware, it is subtitled. So if that's not your thing, too bad.

<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue", Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Summary (imdb.com): A small West Virginia town is hosting the legendary Mountain Man Festival on Halloween, where throngs of costumed party goers gather for a wild night of music and mischief. But an inbred family of hillbilly cannibals kill the fun when they trick and treat themselves to a group of visiting college students.

<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue", Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">I was really excited to see this film when it came out. I am a huge fan on the Wrong Turn series for some reason (the third one being favorite). They came out when the whole back woods cannibals was popular, and I latched onto it. Finding it a lot better than most films in the same sub genre. That being said, I was severely disappointed with this one. It wasn't nearly as good as the other four. My thoughts are that after four movies, they just ran out of imagination. It was sort of boring, I didn't feel anything for the characters, and the cannibal dudes weren't as cool as they usually are. My advice, skip over this movie. If you're a fan of the series like I am, you'll really be disappointed.

<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue", Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Apparently there is going to be three more movies. Though I can not find any news of it on legitimate horror sites. Plus, if you look at the cast listing for the supposed 6th movie, it seems very unlikely that some of those actors would appear in a film like this. Maybe I'm wrong though.

<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue", Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Anyways, like I said before, skip over this film. Save your time and watch something else instead.
<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">Summary from imdb.com: This horror anthology has five short films. Zombie action takes place by
the Arizona-Mexico border in "The Crossing". "Taejung's Lament" follows
a man in mourning for a lost love and his reward for a good deed. A
hit-man has a tough job in "Re-Membered". "Clowned" tells the tale of
birthday party entertainment gone wrong. "Lover Come Back" reflects on
the power of true love.

<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">Now, I am a huge fan of horror anthology films. And this film did not disappoint like I thought it was going to. I thought each film was good, even if some of them had been done before. The best was definitely the one about the clown. Clowns are definitely creepy, but this story of the clown took it to a whole new level. It's sort of what children's nightmares are made of. Besides the clown story, the other stories were good too. One of them even involved zombies. Who doesn't love zombies. A lot of people were upset, because the stories didn't link together at all. It's not about the individual stories that link together, but the people in them.

<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">This is another film that is worth a one time watch. Add it to your list of things to watch during October. However, if you're someone who is afraid of clowns, you might want to skip over this story. Another thing, I realize it says Corbin Bleu stars in this film, but don't let that deter you. I didn't even realize the one character was Corbin until I looked up the cast listing.
<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">Summary from imdb.com: A group of friends stop to pick up a hitchhiking woman only to end up
getting drugged by her with a gas. They awaken to find that vials have
been implanted in the base of their skulls - which are of course
instantly fatal if they are removed, a grinning professional looking
woman informs them on TV screens that they have 22hrs to fill these
vials with a specific amount of brain fluid, a fluid that is produced
during times of extreme pain. Along with another group of unlucky test

<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">There were a lot of plot holes in this movie and at times it was hard to understand. With that being said, I actually really liked this movie. It was disturbing and cringe worthy. There were times during this movie where I had to look away. I also got me thinking at how I would handle that if I was in that situation. I like movies that get me to think. There needed to be fine tuning, but it was a bit different in the sub-genre that it fits into.
<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">If you're someone who loves these kinds of horror, I definitely suggest it. It's good for at least a one time watch. Or something to watch during my favorite month of October.
<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">Summary from imdb.com :After discovering an urban legend on 4chan's /b/ board of a demented
serial killer that has nothing but a carved 'smiley' on his face,
Ashley, a mentally fragile teen, must decide whether she is going
insane, or the next victim.

<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">I waited for quite awhile for this film to come out. It's another movie based on Urban Legends, which hasn't really been done for awhile. And it really takes the power of the internet and how things are spread, and puts it in this movie. In that aspect it was good. I found it to be okay. The acting was something to be desired. Other than Roger Bart, I could care less for every single character and what happened to them.
<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">Summary: Found footage helps a true-crime novelist realize how and why a family

<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">So, I went into this film with no expectations what so ever. Of course deep down I was hoping that it would be good. The entire concept was good. They just didn't bring it up to a level that was scary or surprising. It was predictable as always. Once you get the gist of what's going on, you'll be able to figure out the ending with no problem. What I hated the most was how the relied on the same old type of scares that every movie does. The random loud bang. The person popping up out of nowhere. There's was no creativity in the type of scares. I didn't find the tapes to be all that creepy either. They were disturbing in there own rights, but nothing that's going to scare me, or make me walk out of the theater. They were incidences that were done individually in other movies. And I viewed the father (Ethan Hawke) as nothing but an idiot throughout the entire movie. Ugh, and this demon was funny. He looked like a member of the Insane Clown Posse. I was expecting him to take out a bottle of Faygo at some point. Someone else mentioned that he reminded them of the wrestler Sting. Every time he was on screen, people laughed. That was practically the only reaction from the viewing auidience, laughter. Other than that, the theater was quiet. People didn't seem to find it scary, even the little kids. And I share that sentiment. It was way over hyped. My personal opinion, those who found it scary and/or walked out, are people who are not usual horror movie goers. And personally, I think some critics were paid to say this movie was the scariest thing they ever saw.
<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">So my suggestion, save your money on this film. I'm sure if it's something you really want to see, you can find other ways. Or wait for it to come out on DVD. You're not missing anything. Don't buy into the hype.

<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">Now, possession movies are something that have been done to death. But this was definitely a different take on the whole possession issue. It wasn't really that scary to me but, it was <span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">intriguing. You get a look at the Jewish faith and their folklore. The fact that it's based loosely off of a true story, makes it that more intriguing. This movie made me more interested into looking into what this movie is based off of. Look into it, whether you believe it's true or not, it is an interesting read and watch.
<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">All in all, I found this movie interesting. If you're looking for a good ole fashion possession story, this isn't it. Give it a shot, I think you might like it.

<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue", Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">So here is what I thought. I didn't really like it. I didn't find it scary at all. It was so predictable that I knew the "twist" way before it was going to happen. I knew what was going to happen way before it actually did. And of course, that makes for no scare factor what so ever. This movie is something that has been done time and time again. I was really thinking 'Disturbia' throughout this entire movie ( though I do love 'Disturbia'). The only good thing I found about this movie was Jennifer Lawerence. I kind of love that girl.
<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue", Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">
<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue", Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">
<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue", Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Typical horror movie. Predictable plot. Just when you start to feel sorry, you'll be sadly mistaken.

<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue", Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">So in conclusion, the two of us suggest that you save your money. This movie just isn't worth it. If you really feel that urge to watch it, I'm sure you can find other ways to do so. Plus, you'll be saved the aggravation of unnecessary screaming and yelling you'll probable expierence in the theaters.
Fifteen years after a horrifying experience of abduction and prolonged
torture, Lucie embarks on a bloody quest for revenge against her
oppressors. Along with her childhood friend, Anna, who also suffered
abuse, she quickly descends, without hope, into madness and her own
delusions. Anna, left on her own begins to re-experience what Lucie did

<div style="color: orange; font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">
It's really hard to describe just how I feel about this movie. It's a very disturbing movie with this intense message at the end. You really have to pay attention throughout the whole movie to understand what's going on. This movie is different. This movie will make you emotional. You feel for these characters. At times I wanted to cry for these characters. I definitely do not recommend this movie to those who are novice horror movie fans, those who are faint of heart. All I know is, this movie made me say wow.
<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue", Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">V/H/S is a movie about a group of misfits who are hired to steal a video tape for someone. The tapes contain 5 stories, each one stranger than the other.

<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue", Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">V/H/S is a movie I have been looking forward to seeing. There has been a lot of hype behind this movie and apparently it scared the crap out of some. Before I criticize those aspects, let me say that this is probably one of the best 'found footage' film I have seen (I don't count Diary of the Dead in that genre. Zombie flicks are zombie flicks to me. No matter how they are done. Otherwise, that would be the best film to me.) But then again I am talking about 'found footage' films and they aren't known to be very good. Other than Grave Encounters I haven't seen a movie in this sub genre that has been good. V/H/S was good. 4/5 stories were interesting and a bit creepy. The 3rd story in this movie was by far my favorite and if this movie isn't keeping your interest, at least watch that one. The 2nd story, WTF. I mean really. WTF. It seemed so out of place from the other stories. It didn't keep up with the other supernatural stories. It shouldn't have been included in this movie. They could have been just 4 stories or have included a different story instead of this one. The problem I had with this movie is, a lot of unanswered questions. You didn't know who wanted the tape, why he wanted the tape, the significance of the tape, why this guy they were robbing this tape in his house, and what essentially happened to this guy. That would have tied the story in really nicely. The unanswered questions made the movie a lot worse than it could have been. I think every horror fan should at least give this movie a shot. It was wayyyyy overhyped but, it was still good. I enjoyed watching it. And it certainly wasn't bored by it as I am by other movies. So it's definitely worth a watch.

<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue", Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">As for the hype of this movie, way overhyped as I stated before. The people who we made sick by this movie or were scared by this movie obviously don't watch a lot of horror movies. That and they were obviously suffering from some sort of sickness beforehand. It really wasn't too scary. I could think of movies that were scarier than this. And the gore factor wasn't even that great. I heard a lot of hype about that too. And I am happy that there wasn't that much gore. Sometimes gore takes away from a movie like this. It adds shock factor without adding to much scare and jump factors.
There is a legend about a Tall Man who abducts the children. And when a mother's child goes missing, she sets out to find the truth about the Tall Man.

<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue", Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Now first let me warn you that this is not a movie about Phantasm's Tall Man. There seems to be a lot of confusion on other sites that this is a movie about him. It is not. Unfortunately, it's also not a movie about Slenderman. If you don't know who Slenderman is, look his up. Seriously creepy. The only thing in this movie that resembles ole Slendy is the summary. That's it. Side not, people need to seriously think about making a movie about Slendy.

<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue", Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Anyways, this movie was really good. I found it to be really good and kept me interested. Although it was confusing at first, they really do explain it towards the last 10 minutes. It starts out slow but, don't let that deter you from watching the entire movie. You must sit through the entire thing. I also found Jessica Biel to be very good in this movie. I'm not really a fan of hers but, this is one film where I actually enjoyed her. It also has Jodelle Ferland, of Silent Hill fame, in this movie. Which makes it instantly better.

<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue", Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">One thing I will say about this movie is, it's definitely not a horror film. It's listed as a horror movie but, as you get deeper into the movie, you will see that it is not. This movie only reinforces why Pascal Laugier is one of my favorite directors. So check this movie out. And if you like Pascal as much as I do, check out Martyrs. Martyrs is by far one of my favorite movies.

<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue", Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Hope you enjoy this film as much as I do.
